Limon Area Fire Protection District (Limon Fire & Rescue) is a full service emergency services organization. Based in the Limon, "The Hub City", Limon Fire & Rescue began serving our community in 1912. We have grown to cover more than 400 square miles in both Lincoln and Elbert counties. We specialize in fire suppression, vehicle rescue, technical rescue and emergency medical services. We provide ambulance transport through our partner agency, Limon Ambulance Service. We are staffed with professionally qualified volunteers. Our men and women come from many walks of life and backgrounds, but all share one goal: To serve with integrity, courage, passion and dedication; and to preserve life, property and the environment.
Limon and its surrounding areas rely on the time, skill and efforts of people LIKE YOU! We provide all necessary training and equipment. Over the course of two years, you have the opportunity to earn your State Firefighting Certification, State Hazardous Materials Certification, Emergency Medical Responder Certification and Federal Wildland Firefighting Certification. Additional information and an application for membership are available in our download section!
We currently accept members who live within the LAFPD boundaries only. If you do not live in the LAFPD, we encourage you to find opportunities to serve the emergency service organization in your community.
